Life in Lower School
Every morning, the Lower School at Fort Worth Country Day comes alive with the energy of hundreds of curious young minds. The halls fill with laughter and the excitement of a fresh new day. Our Lower School classrooms are buzzing with technology, and our teachers employ inquiry-based teaching to engage inquisitive young minds and foster a passion for learning at an early age. Here, students are not limited by a one-size-fits-all program. Instead, they can truly flourish and learn as they make personal strides through guided instruction in reading, spelling and math.
At this age, children yearn to express themselves. The FWCD Lower School curriculum includes an active study of the arts, including music, drawing, painting, sculpture and printmaking. Our instruction in the fine arts promotes hands-on creation. French and Spanish language classes introduce students to a world outside of their community, creating a culturally rich learning environment.
