Preparing For College
At Fort Worth Country Day, our graduates are supremely prepared for college and real-world experiences. FWCD graduates continue their educational journeys at some of the Nation’s — and Texas’ — finest universities and colleges. They regularly call upon their strong FWCD foundation as they move through life as productive contributors and leaders to society.
To begin this preparation, every Upper School student has a faculty advisor who is an advocate, coach and mentor. This advisory also facilitates discussions between student or parent and teacher, monitors academic performance and citizenship, guides in goal setting and counsels on course selection. Two full-time college counselors are on staff to assist Upper School students and parents through the college admission process.
With a strong educational foundation combined with focused preparation, FWCD students earn some of the highest SAT scores in the region, possess an exceptional record on Advanced Placement examinations and earn National Merit recognition. Traditionally, 100 percent of our graduates attend college, some going on to Ivy League and top-tier universities.
